100 Books to Read

Reading. Growing up, we all hated it, well at least I know I did. I can still remember the first book that I read front to back and actually enjoyed, Tiger Woods An American Master. There are many benefits to reading such as mental stimulation, stress reduction (which is huge in this business), knowledge, vocabulary expansion, memory improvement, improved focus and concentration, and better writing skills, all amongst many other benefits in which I won’t get into.
As a young aspiring coach, or a coach 20 years in, you should always strive to get better and learn something new each day. Carve out 1 hour during your day to read, whether that is books, articles online, blogs, anything you can find. Topics do not have to be your sole sport; you should venture out into other sports to get a feel for how coaches go about building their programs. Leadership, Motivation, Self Help, Sports, Phycology, Health and Wellness, Management, Success, and any other topics that may interest you are all valuable resources to dive into.
There is no excuse to not learning and growing as a person. You will make time for what is important to you. Put down the Xbox controller, the TV remote and open up a book.
I challenge you to finish AT LEAST 45 books in a year! Push yourself and reap the benefits, see how much you can learn, grow, focus, and healthier you feel.
